November 2025

20th November – Business meeting – A monthly report and discussion on the various projects and social events. Cycle Ride, Fun Run, Shoe boxes, The Draft Shaftesbury Directory and Youth Competitions and sponsored siwm to name a few.

Rotakids have supported “Make a Wish” and have plans for a cumulative walk, a care home visit, biscuit baking and Christmas cards.

21st November – Five of us travelled to Fordingbridge to take part in their annual fund-raising quiz. Alas we returned somewhat sheepishly 12th out of 13. 100 + people attended and at least we contributed to the funds raised in the region of £1200 for local benefactors.

24th November – Business meeting – The usual 100 club monthly draw was taken. Discussionover introducing a summer event.  Christmas donations were agreed for Open house and the Dorset refuge. Semley school are proposing to join the sponsored swim to raise funds for their outdoor education project.

26th November – Bingo at Shaston Social Club. The evening was a huge success over £890 raised for local charities. We would like to give a big thank you to Virginia Hayward, Nick Else (suppler of fruit and vegetable boxes), Stalbridge linen, Tescos and thanks to all local High Street shops who gave donations.  We are reminded that holidays booked through Riviera travel can attract a 10% donation through their affinity partnership scheme.  www.rivieratravel.co.uk/affinity

We would also like to thank all those that participated, including Abbey Primary RotaKids, Caller Mike Shoemark and all those who helped on the night, as without you it wouldn’t have been a success.  A few of the hampers and raffle prizes below.
