August Timeline

Thirteen of us gathered for a traditional Sunday Lunch at The Forester, Donhead St Andrew on Sunday 11th August.  The Snug was reserved for us and we enjoyed two courses in very pleasant surroundings.  There was lots of lively conversation.  We were also very pleased that new member Stephen Russell and his partner were able to join us. We are looking forward to meeting socially for lunch or dinner more frequently.

12th August 2024 – For our regular meeting, we were joined by Leona McDonald, Marketing and Sales Director at First Milk, who gave us an insight into the cooperative that has recently taken over Blackmore Vale Dairy. First Milk – The Regenerative    Co-op   Along with their creameries in the Lake District and South Wales, they also market The Golden Hooves brand of cheeses. Our local dairy has become part of this group, who are a leading company in the production of British dairy products.  BV Dairy have supported the Rotary Cycle Ride since its inception and we are grateful for that valued support, which First Milk have confirmed will continue.  We look forward to working with them again next year and congratulate BV Dairy on their integration into the group.

19th August 2024 – Business as usual as we discussed donations to local causes, forthcoming events and fundraising for 2025.  The Caldwell Award will be made soon. The Halloween Walk date was agreed for Saturday 2nd November.  The twinning visit to Heerlen is planned for 13th September.
