Higher Green Farm at Twyford, near Shaftesbury, Dorset is a converted farm in a stunning rural setting, for the teaching of all forms of Art and Craft. There is workshop, gallery and studio space set within four acres of inspirational grounds and beautiful surrounding countryside, creating that peaceful 'away from it all' feeling. We aim to provide opportunities at all levels for children and adults to pursue creative experience through the courses that we offer.Des Alner and Julie Turner are both makers and tutors in various arts and crafts, with many years' experience working with adults and children. They are working with many other local artists and craftspeople and can offer a wide range of courses in various media, plus regular exhibitions.The development of the farm to date includes 3 large multi purpose Studio Galleries with a substantial landscaped level area for outside activities. There is ample car parking on hardstanding. The former dairy and barn has been converted in to working studio space including a sculpture workshop. We run regular Childrens Art and Craft Courses during the School Holidays.We also run occasional Adults Courses in Art, Pottery, Metal Sculpture, Paper Sculpture, Stone Carving , Textiles, Creative Writing, Illustration and Digital Photography.
