It was another month of successfully keeping things going by meeting on Zoom however, it was with great disappointment that we had to cancel the kids out day to Longleat for Yewstock school. June is the time for the annual change of command, with incoming President Steve outlining his plans for the year and a surprise for outgoing President Win. We also welcomed two speakers this month.

Another month under lockdown and we are still continuing to meet via Zoom. This month saw our first online speaker evening, hearing from Brie Logan on how the council are supporting residents with Covid related problems. We also have an amusing piece on our new medium for meeting, Zoom.

Well it’s been a month like no other. With everyone settling in to the lock-down routine, we looked to technology to continue working. We held our first Virtual meeting for the whole of Shaftesbury Rotary Club. We also held a Virtual AGM meeting. Stay safe and Thank You essential workers!

March began with a talk on the Charity Horatio’s Garden as well as Mock interviews at Shaftesbury School. Mid-month, as the Covid-19 pandemic progressed, the tough decision to cancel Monday meetings and events was made so as to protect our members and the community. Shortly after this, the government announced the lock down rules we are all now familiar with. We held our Club Council by Zoom on 23rd Mar and at the meeting made the decision to have Rotary Club meetings by Zoom every two weeks for all members. Stay Safe.

It may be the shortest month but February had some very interesting events. We learnt about code breaking in WW2 and there were a lot of developments for our cycle event. We heard new ways to reach more people through social media and found a new sponsor for the Ride. February was rounded off as we learnt more about the HOPE projects.
